Why work for us?
Target English International is a British Council accredited company operating junior summer schools for international students aged 8 – 18 in eight locations across the UK. Our schools are based on university or Further Education college campuses, all with good quality residential accommodation, teaching and leisure facilities on-site. Our summer courses offer a balanced mix between learning in the classroom and learning during activities and on excursions. We are dedicated to giving students a memorable, enjoyable and, above all, safe study holiday experience.
Our staff are without doubt our most valuable asset and our students frequently say the staff are one of the best things about their study holiday. We welcome new applicants but also value our returning staff, and to both we offer an attractive package that includes:
- Competitive salary
- Full-board accommodation if required (in single rooms with en-suite bathrooms)
- Holiday pay
- Full induction on-site. (Managers and activity leaders are requested to attend our 2 day induction weekend held at the University of Hull before the start of your contract.)
- £10 a week returner’s increment (up to a maximum of 3 years)
Contracts are usually 2, 3 or 4 weeks in length depending on location, between mid-June to the end of August. Extensions up to 6 or 8 weeks are possible dependent on student numbers, staff availability and manager recommendations.
How do we recruit?
All prospective staff must apply through our careers page. If you have any questions prior to application, please contact Lucy Donnelly, at email@example.com or by post to Recruitment, Target English International, K2 Tower, 60 Bond Street, Hull HU1 3EN. In line with safer recruitment for roles involving responsibility for, or substantial access to, under 18s, all gaps in employment history must be explained, references will be followed up and all staff will undergo an Enhanced DBS check (or overseas equivalent). All staff complete an online safeguarding and Prevent course.
We will then invite successful applicants to an interview, face-to-face, via Skype or over the telephone. Applicants are recommended to read the job description for the role they are applying for in order to best prepare for the interview. Candidates successful at interview are then offered a position in one of our centres, subject to receipt of two satisfactory references, relevant safeguarding checks, proof of identity and proof of qualifications (for academic staff).
All enquiries regarding recruitment are to be addressed to Lucy Donnelly firstname.lastname@example.org or 01482 214 955.
