Target English International (formerly known as ATC International) is a British Council accredited company established in 2009. We specialise in the provision of residential summer courses in the UK for international students aged 10-18.

Our senior management team – James Hordon (Director) & Cath Lanyon (Sales & Operations Manager) – have a wealth of experience in junior summer schools with over 50 years’ experience in this specialist sector between them. Over the last 9 years we have built up an experienced and dedicated team of professionals committed to ensuring all of our students have the best possible study holiday experience.

Our Aim

Our aim is to provide a quality study holiday experience for each of our students, helping them to improve their language skills whilst having a fun and interesting holiday in the UK.

We try to apply the basic principles of quality and value for money to every aspect of our provision.

  • Our language course includes the Trinity Exam in Spoken English (GESE) and this is an integral part of our syllabus. This gives all of our students a goal to work towards and a real sense of achievement at the end of the course.
  • Our full board residential accommodation is in single rooms in high quality student residences, with an en-suite bathroom option in all locations. We believe the small touches are important so we always include a towel.
  • Our activity programmes are specifically designed with teenagers in mind so include a varied mix of sports and other on-campus activities as well as plenty of sightseeing and cultural visits. Excursions and local visits are supported by our unique Activity Books to help keep students informed and engaged.  We also include free optional drama workshops led by specialist facilitators in all locations.
  • Our staff are without doubt our most valuable asset. All teachers are recruited in line with British Council guidelines and are supported throughout the course by their Director of Studies and the Academic Management team. The centre management teams and activity leaders are invited to attend a comprehensive training weekend before the start of the course. All staff are subject to comprehensive safeguarding checks including Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks.
